I am a young 16year old girl that lives with both my parents and siblings; a big family of eight . I am student, majoring in the natural sciences in a high school known as Donnergymnasiet. Both my parents are from Eritrea in East Africa, but I am born and raised here in Sweden. However, I have been in Eritrea a couple of times and I love it and I must say that my connection to my roots is strong and I dream of one day returning.
My interests are dancing and playing handball. I dance samba and dancehall 5 times in a week and I am loving it. I have now danced for about 5 years. We do performances pretty often with the dance group, so I’m used to standing in front of people and expressing myself which I believe is an asset for modeling.
I have always wanted to be a model since my childhood. I remember always standing in front of the mirror and posing, so now I have the chance to live up to my dreams.
I can imagine doing all different kinds of modeling. I am open to everything.
My goal in life is to find happiness. Happiness for me is doing what I like to do and make other people happy.
In the future I want to move back to my motherland Eritrea and start a life there.
I do not see Eritrea as “a country where my parents were born”, I see Eritrea as MY country.
Even though I have only been there two times on vacation, it feels like it is the place where I belong.
All my life I struggled to find my ethnicity, my identity -and it feels like I have finally found it. I am Eritrean.
That is my identity, that is my ethnicity, that is my pride!
