Now approaching is the Great African feast. Below is a more detailed program information with all times approximated. We would also like to mention that during the day will be a collection for AIDS-affected children in Swaziland

DAY’S PROGRAM:
16:00 Dance Workshop 1, Kenyan dance with Kiumbiro Murigu. Kiumbiro is a dance teacher from Kenya who offers dance with a lovely movement and speedy pace. Often we associate with West African dance but of course they can also dance in the East, which Kiumbiro demonstrates. Kiumbiro is also an engineer and manager of Ethnic Pride Corporation (EPC) http://www.ethnicpc.com whose purpose is to highlight the issue of integration and strengthening of ethnic minorities in Sweden.
17:30 Djembe Workshop with Papis Fodé Bodian. Papis is a unique, educational, humorous and charming djembe teacher and performer. Papis started playing the Djembe and learned the technique quickly and within a few years he increasingly attracted attention and is today one of the best in the region he comes from in Senegal.
19:00 Mattältet open Here we are invited to a small sample of africa.
19:30 Dance Workshop 2 Kenyan dance with Kiumbiro Murigu
20:30 Dance party around a campfire, barbecue…now starts the dance party we have all been waiting for! Pulse feast held by Kwa Tchiwa, a ten-man group of drummers and dancers who play, dance with sing mainly West Africa tunes. Gamer makes, among other things on djembe drums and kpanlogos (drums from Ghana). Grilled hot dogs and soft drinks, can be purchased until it runs out…:-)

Afrikahuset on the 6th of August…Edo Bumba & Sauti Sol

Sauti Sol is one of Kenya’s top musical favorites. They have an arrangement of acoustic music where the whole ensemble is played out through sweet vocals and an overall presence. Meet a fusion of traditional African music and a more urban sound!

The band consists of Austin Chimano, Delvin Mudigi, Polycarp Otieno and Bien-aime Baraza.

Edo Bumba is from Congo, but since ’87 resides in Gothenburg. He is a guitarist, percussionist, singer, composer and choir director, and more. The band is about Afro-pop that takes hold of you! Rumba, bolero, calypso, merengue gets you into the dance music!

African Festival: A Tribute to Africa- 11th to 13th June, 2010

Welcome to an exotic experience in Mundekulla with a focus on Africa!
Participate in seminars, workshops in song, dance, theater, see short films about Africa and listen to wonderful concerts in the beautifully manicured Mundekulla hay lofts and barns.
This is a festival for the whole family under the banner of “Uprising-A Tribute to Africa”. This year’s Football World Cup will be in South Africa starting this weekend which we will address during the festival.

Ethnic Pride Magazine

Ethnic Pride Magazine is a magazine that will promote the achievements and successes of our sports stars, entertainers, businessmen/women both locally and nationally. We will also promote ethnic events and functions as well as providing our readers with interesting news from around the globe. We aim to provide local ethnic businesses the affordable means in which to promote their business to the general public.
This magazine is set to be distributed to 250,000 households which primarily constitutes the whole city of Gothenburg.
